I've been coming to Turk's for years now and have always loved its charm. It was my grandpa's favorite place to go when we visited Dana Point and since his passing, I always loved visiting. If you're looking for a high-end vibe on the water then this isn't the place for you. The charm at Turk's is similar to the feeling of sitting on an 1850s pirate ship as the walls and tables are coated in wood. Today our bartender was named Brandon and he was a cool guy. He told us a little about the history of the restaurant and had a great sense of humor. We ate lunch before coming, so we had a few drinks and some appetizers. We ordered the Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup and Clam Chowder. The pickles that came with the dish were so good. I ended out ordering more because of how good they tasted. It was quite misty/cold outside, so the Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup hit the spot. It wasn't the best Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup, but it did hit the spot. Clam Chowder is a dish that most restaurants and a lot of them don't taste too good. Turk's Clam Chowder was truly great. It was the perfect consistency and taste without being too rich. If you like a dive barish place with a simple menu, Turk's is the spot for you. The charm of this place won't ever change and thats the beauty of it. My rating is 8.5/10.

Great location and fun locals vibe! Hubby liked his French Dip: tender and tasty beef with a flavorful au jus. I'd heard about, therefore, had to order their Famous Fish & Chips; the planks were generous in size and filling -- not my favorite, though (I'd prefer a crispier batter). We had to experience Turk's after I'd heard about their "strong" drinks; the drinks were good (although we've had stronger pours). Fun, energetic crew! We look forward to returning.

Looks like they've been here forever. The patina on the wood is testament to that. I had the blackened sea bass and the fish and chips, both excellent no complaints. This is the complete opposite of trendy. You want honest food with honest prices come here.

As i've previously stated, I don't get down to Dana Point often, but when I do Turk's is a must. I won't repeat what I've previously stated except to say I've never been disappointed by the food, the drink, the service, or the ambience. I usually order the New York steak, but the beef stroganoff special looked inviting, so that's what I ordered. I was glad I did. It was very good. She ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed the dish. As a side note, it's fun to stroll around the harbor, admire the boats, and listen to the sea lions barking. Long live Turk's. Cheers.

I was recommended to this place by some friends and I am glad they did! We went on a Saturday around lunchtime and were greeted by lovable dive bar scene with lots of unique things to look at while you are there. This is a local favorite and every person of the staff that we encountered were fantastic! Their food is very good for what you would normally consider at a dive bar. I ordered the fish and chips as well as clam chowder - boy was it delicious! I usually feel slightly sick after eating fish and chips so I was hesitant but this service was a very good size and I only felt great after eating it. The clam chowder was delicious as well! Definitely stop by for food or drinks or both!
